UDA Party Delays Elections Across 19 Centers(LIST)

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) decided to delay local elections scheduled for Saturday due to the floods affecting the country. The elections will now be held on Sunday, May 5.

Elections were pushed back in 19 locations across Kapenguria, Narok, Pokot, and Kilgoris areas. The rescheduled elections are set to run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on May 5, 2024, according to the announcement.

In Kapenguria, the voting will now occur at Tipet Primary School, Kasitei Polling Centre, Riting Primary School, and Kodungole Polling Centre. Other affected locations include Chepokachim Polling Centre, Salawa Polling Centre, Mosongkaging Polling Centre, Kaptemo Primary School, Mumot Polling Centre, and Muno ECDE Centre. Endough Ward in Kapenguria was particularly impacted.

In Pokot South, voting will be postponed at Kapchikar Primary School, Nyarkulian Primary School, and Tororo Primary School, all situated in Tapach Warn.

For Narok North, the delay affects Oyarata Polling Centre, Olopirik Polling, Ilpoltol Polling Centre, Entiyani Polling Centre, and Medungi Polling Centre, with Olokurto Ward being the most disrupted.

The Mosiro Polling Station in Narok East and Medungi Polling Centre in Kilgoris also faced setbacks due to the situation.

The UDA is carrying out its first nationwide grassroots elections in preparation for the 2027 general election.
