On March 27, a viral video circulated online showing a woman in a wheelchair being slapped on the cheek and kicked by a Nigerian man.

The altercation drew the attention of two other women who rushed to the vicinity and tried to help the victim.

However, their intervention failed to stop the imposing man from attacking the lady, who details now show is the suspect’s partner.

What did Gloria Orwoba say about the incident?

Senator Gloria Orwoba met the assaulted lady on Wednesday, May 1, and shared her story with the public via her social media pages.

Orwoba said she followed up on the victim’s case by visiting the Karen police station and conversing with the Officer in Charge of the Station (OCS).

“I have looked at the file and I have verified that the victim of that unfortunate incident is sitting here with me and we had a very lengthy conversation,” she said.

Orwoba added that the case is presently before the court, and they were awaiting the hearing.

She identified the victim as Pauline and the suspect as John Noko.

“It’s so difficult for people to come out even for Pauline to sit here with me as I tell her story. She is completely traumatized from 10 years of violence. I have affirmed that the man seen assaulting Pauline is a foreigner and is here on a work permit. Pauline has children with the man,” Orwoba said.

The outspoken senator condemned the attack meted on Pauline, stating that there was no excuse for the man attacking an extremely vulnerable woman.

She promised to ensure Pauline and her children are protected from any harm or threats from the suspect.

Kenyan lawyer murdered by boyfriend

In 2021, lawyer Elizabeth Koki was found dead in her house by her domestic worker.

It was established that the deceased and her lover Christian Kadima (the main suspect) had engaged in an argument after she found some women’s photos in his phone.

The lawyer had after noticing the suspicious images, summoned him to her house to explain who the lady was.

A detective investigating the case disclosed the duo engaged in constant wrangles and had been in an off-and-on relationship, which culminated in Koki’s death.

Autopsy reports revealed that the lawyer was suffocated to death.
