Ruto’s Party Accuses ODM Governors of Using County Funds to Back Raila’s Political Endeavors
The ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party announced on Wednesday that it plans to release a list of governors it accuses of misusing county funds for political purposes.
Cleophas Malala, UDA Secretary General, claimed that counties under ODM governors were using public funds to support opposition leader Raila Odinga’s political endeavors.
Malala asserted that the ruling party had evidence to substantiate these allegations.
Malala stated, “In fact, ODM counties are poorly managed by corrupt and incompetent governors who are protected by the ODM party. We will present proof of how these governors are using county funds to support the political activities of ODM leader Raila Odinga.”
Moreover, UDA criticized the ODM Party, accusing it of targeting civil servants, especially in the Nyanza region.
Malala claimed that ODM was singling out high-ranking civil servants and attacking them aggressively.

Malala stated, “We have observed ODM’s tendency to attack civil servants in the Nyanza region, with the level of attack intensifying with the individual’s position.”
Malala also defended the ruling party, denying that the government was using its influence to disrupt the opposition as claimed by ODM earlier in the week.
In an official statement, ODM accused UDA of using rebels to create disorder at opposition events.
UDA’s response came after ODM expelled Urirri MP Mark Nyamita on Wednesday, accusing him of being a UDA agent.
This occurred after disturbances broke out at two events in the Nyanza region, where supporters of Nyamita and Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko clashed, prompting police intervention.
In a statement signed by Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, ODM accused UDA of involvement in the unrest.
