At the scene, the police seized the wooden-handled penknife and detained the suspect’s two accomplices, who were carrying 21 rolls of cannabis.

Both the injured officer and the suspect were transported to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for medical attention and were subsequently released.

Separately, police are investigating a robbery at a petrol station on Ngong Road in Nairobi, where gunmen stole petroleum products worth approximately Sh500,000.

According to a police report, the incident occurred on Thursday morning when the robbers arrived at the station in a car, inquiring about a place to get tea. The gunmen then left the car, forced the attendant into a room, and tied his hands.

The robbers’ accomplices joined them in the sales room, where they packed various oil products into a sack and loaded them into their vehicle before fleeing.

Police have collected CCTV footage from the station and detectives are examining it to identify the perpetrators of the attack.
