Officer Stabbed in Kayole During Arrest; Police Investigate Petrol Station Robbery
A police officer was injured by being stabbed three times while attempting to arrest a suspect in Nairobi’s Kayole area on Wednesday night.
The assailant used a penknife to attack the officer in the left rib, right lower chin and left thigh, as reported by the police.
The officer’s colleague who was with him during the incident shot the suspect in the knee, injuring him during the foiled robbery attempt.
“The suspect was accompanied by two others when he was attacked and injured, leading the other officer to shoot him in the right thigh, with the bullet exiting from the back,” police stated.

At the scene, the police seized the wooden-handled penknife and detained the suspect’s two accomplices, who were carrying 21 rolls of cannabis.
Both the injured officer and the suspect were transported to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for medical attention and were subsequently released.
Separately, police are investigating a robbery at a petrol station on Ngong Road in Nairobi, where gunmen stole petroleum products worth approximately Sh500,000.
According to a police report, the incident occurred on Thursday morning when the robbers arrived at the station in a car, inquiring about a place to get tea. The gunmen then left the car, forced the attendant into a room, and tied his hands.
The robbers’ accomplices joined them in the sales room, where they packed various oil products into a sack and loaded them into their vehicle before fleeing.
Police have collected CCTV footage from the station and detectives are examining it to identify the perpetrators of the attack.
