The suspect allegedly concealed the narcotics in his shoes, bags, and purse.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), India’s equivalent to the Kenyan Revenue Authority (KRA), has launched an investigation into the incident and is anticipated to issue a comprehensive report.

In the past year, there has been an increase in the number of narcotic seizures at Indian airports, with a significant number of these cases involving passengers flying from or transiting through Nairobi, Kenya.

Five days ago, the Asian police officers enticed and arrested two Kenyan women transporting Ksh25 million worth of cocaine.

The DRI shifted its focus to one of the women at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport, where it was discovered that she had 1,698 kilograms of cocaine.

It was unclear how the woman evaded the hawk-eyed detectives at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) while flying with the narcotics.

The officers asserted that the woman intended to sell the narcotics in Mumbai, India.

Both the carrier and the recipient have been arrested by the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act), according to a DRI statement. The investigation is ongoing.

According to DRI, narcotic trafficking suspects face over ten years in prison. Those who are discovered using the drugs risk a year in prison.
