MP Babu Owino Denounces False Marriage Allegations
Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Paul Ongili, commonly referred to as Babu Owino, has strongly denied rumors circulating on the internet claiming that his marriage is facing difficulties.
In reaction to the widely circulated story, the outspoken legislator utilized social media to clarify the facts and uphold the importance of his marriage to Fridah Muthoni Ongili.
Babu Owino, who has two daughters with his wife Fridah, responded to false allegations spread by certain blogs, which claimed that his eldest child was fathered by someone else.
The MP brushed off these accusations as unfounded lies created by his political opponents and thanked God for keeping his marriage strong and happy despite the continuous onslaught.
“I have been seeing this article in different blogs for more than 6 years now. Our political enemies are very active, which is expected, but our God is stronger. Despite such attacks, I thank God that He continues to keep my marriage strong, happy, and full of joy and love,” Babu Owino asserted, sharing screenshots of the misleading articles.
The legislator’s statements garnered strong backing from his supporters, who united in condemnation of misinformation and expressed admiration for his unwavering resolve amidst challenges.
Reacting to the outpouring of support, one user, kiki.g.kinyua, questioned the motives behind such malicious rumors, while ex_pensi.ve commended Babu Owino hailing him as a beacon of wisdom and leadership.
Despite facing undeserved scrutiny, Babu Owino continues to show unwavering commitment to his family, frequently demonstrating his love for his wife and daughters through social media posts.
Babu has faced criticism for his affection towards his wife before. He disclosed that their relationship received disapproval from others because Muthoni belonged to a different tribe than his, the Luo tribe.

However, the parliament member strongly believes in the ability of love to surpass divisions among different groups.
“This is the person God meant for me to marry. She is the one God has planned for my life. Love triumphs. Love conquers tribalism. Despite the gossip, I made a conscious decision, the right decision, without any regrets,” the father of two affirmed.
Last Father’s Day, he conveyed a sincere message celebrating his position as a father and expressing thankfulness for the blessings he had received.
“Happy Father’s Day to the Almighty God. A father who never disappoints. Mathew 23:9, You have one father and He is in heaven,” the MP captioned a photo of him embracing his beautiful daughters.
During a TV47 interview, the Member of Parliament spoke about his long-lasting union with Fridah, praising her as a source of strength and consistent support over their 13-year journey together.
“I am incredibly blessed to have Fridah Muthoni Ongili as my wife, I do not regret having her,” he said in the interview while revealing that he met his spouse when she was a first-year student at Nairobi University.
“I never lack time for my family; wife and kids. Every day, I am reminded of how fortunate I am to have such a loving and supportive wife,” he said.
