On Wednesday, September 18, Kebaso addressed the incident via his X account, admitting to meeting Ruto, but clarified that the rally occurred months before the Gen Z protests.
He explained that he met Ruto on March 23, 2024, during a visit to his hometown where the president was launching a development project.
“At the time, I didn’t realize the project in my area was a scam. Like many, I was naive. I also want to clarify that I’m neither a content creator nor an activist. I’m a leader, and I’ve been honing my skills since childhood. My values remain intact, and I will always be transparent when faced with such questions,” he posted on X.
In a separate message, Kebaso appealed to his supporters advocating for better governance and accountability to forgive him for attending the rally.
“I apologize for participating in one of his development tours, believing I was being patriotic, unaware I was in the middle of a fraud. For that, I ask for forgiveness,” he wrote.

This apology follows a confrontation between State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed and Kebaso on live television two weeks ago.
On Wednesday, August 28, the two engaged in a heated debate after Kebaso claimed to have received a job offer directly from President William Ruto.
Kebaso stated that he respectfully declined the offer, asserting it was a state position.
“I initially received calls from the president’s associates, and eventually, I spoke with President Ruto himself. I was respectful as he holds the people’s mandate, but I turned down the state position,” Kebaso shared.
In response, Mohamed, during a live broadcast, denied the lawyer’s claims, stating that no such conversation occurred.
Mohamed expressed shock over the allegations, challenging Kebaso to provide evidence of the call from the president.
“I’m astonished by Morara’s statements. Why fabricate such a story on national TV? There was no such call. This is purely imaginary. Let him prove it,” Mohamed declared.
