Mandera Police Officer Reporting for Work on Labour Day Dies by Suicide

A somber atmosphere settled over Mandera County after a newly appointed police officer took his own life at the Burduras West Location shortly after starting his job on Wednesday.

Locals nearby found the officer’s body hanging from a tree and informed the police about the incident, according to a police report obtained by Gossipa2z.com.

Police officers from Burduras Police Station quickly responded to the scene and identified the deceased as the newly recruited administration police officer, having found his letter of appointment in his pockets.

At the scene, authorities also found two mobile phones, a cotton face mask, and a purple carrier bag.

Shortly afterward, the Officer Commanding Station Takaba, OC Crime Divisions, and DCI personnel from Mandera West Sub-County arrived to document the incident.

The police report indicated that no suicide note was discovered.

The event emphasizes the challenging circumstances police officers encounter daily. 

They frequently endure psychological stress as they strive to uphold law and order while also confronting the unfavorable views many people hold toward law enforcement.

As a result, this situation has negatively impacted the mental health of numerous police officers.

In response to this issue, the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has set up outreach programs to offer counseling services to those affected.

Additionally, newly recruited officers receive mentorship and training from seasoned cops to help them manage the difficulties of a demanding work environment.
