Andrew Kibet, a County Assembly Member representing Kinyoro in Trans Nzoia County, faced disruptions at a funeral on Saturday as he spoke in support of President William Ruto’s policies.

Kibet had recently stepped onto the platform to rally support for the Kenya Kwanza regime. However, his efforts took an unexpected turn when the audience began vehemently protesting, urging the politician to vacate the stage.

The sequence of occurrences led the MC to step in, but their intervention failed to appease the angry residents who remained steadfast in their determination to force the politician out of the meeting.

“It is my work to protect my President. MP Caleb Amisi (Saboti)respect the President of Kenya,” the defiant MCA stated while directing his anger at Saboti MP Caleb Amisi.

Kibet criticized local leaders, alleging that they were speaking negatively about Ruto and damaging the reputation of the Head of State among the community. Specifically, he singled out Amisi, the MCA, for engaging in such behavior.

He underscored the importance of showing respect to President Ruto, stating that he holds the presidential position. This statement displeased the locals, leading them to abruptly interrupt his speech.

A leader rose from their seat, expressing frustration by raising their hands in the air. This action prompted the MCA to hurl insults in their direction.

“I am the President’s MCA, sit down and let me finish my speech,” Kibet remarked.

At the same time, individuals in the backdrop were audible, alleging that the MCA had not been forthright regarding the State of the Nation, especially concerning the condition of the country’s economy.

On his part, Saboti MP Amisi accused the MCA of attacking him.

Amisi mentioned that Kibet appeared at the location accompanied by a gathering of unruly young individuals to cause a disturbance to the event.

“The people of Saboti have told those being sent by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to frustrate me to try everywhere. Trying to mobilize and incite a peace-loving community against me will not work,” he stated.

Amisi had previously cautioned President Ruto about making misleading commitments to the residents of Saboti.

At the same time, Kibet is one of numerous politicians who have faced disapproval from the audience while advocating for the government.

In December, residents of Kitui Central expressed discontent and interrupted Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza as she elaborated on the actions implemented by President Ruto to address the economic challenges and reduce the cost of living.

The inhabitants urged her to take a seat, contending that the government had not fulfilled the commitments it had made to the voters who played a crucial role in electing President William Ruto.

Within the first year of the Kenya Kwanza government assuming power, certain leaders encountered a challenging reception nationwide, as Kenyans expressed their dissatisfaction with Ruto’s unkept pledges.
