Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro Reveals Childhood Struggles Motivated Interest in Education Projects
On Sunday, January 28, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro explained the factors that led him to endorse education and initiatives related to it.
While participating in the Family Day Celebration Mass at St. Cecilia Kusa Catholic Church Parish in Nyakach, Kisumu County, the parliamentarian expressed that his challenges during childhood significantly contributed to fostering a commitment to educational initiatives.
Nyoro expressed that his challenging upbringing with his father, who came from a modest background, was difficult. He emphasized that only through the guidance of God and education did he find a way to achieve his aspirations and develop into the person he is today.
Having a father who worked as a carpenter, the challenges of being raised in an economically disadvantaged family motivated the members of Parliament to dedicate themselves to academic excellence, aiming for a brighter future.
“When you see me here in this nice suit, it is God who got me this far more so through education. My father was a carpenter,” the MP stated.
Nyoro mentioned that his dad resided in Kiandutu, Thika, and went on to disclose that their dwelling was in a deteriorated condition, exacerbating the challenges they faced in life.
“My father was living in Kiandutu in Thika which is like Kondele. On visiting my father’s house, I could see everything happening outside, not through a glass window, but because there were so many openings in the walls,” he added.
Moreover, Nyoro emphasized that his departure from that lifestyle was a result of education, underscoring the significance of children receiving a superior education for a more promising future.

“This tells you that through education many children just like I was, God can remember them through education and they will end up being successful for themselves and for the community,” he stated
The Member of Parliament emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing education and mentioned that the budget and allocation committee, of which he is a member, has earmarked Ksh700 billion for educational purposes.
Regarding the distribution of resources in different regions, Nyoro informed the Kisumu county residents that every Kenyan should receive a fair portion of the national resources. He emphasized that President William Ruto was committed to serving all Kenyans impartially and ensuring equal opportunities for everyone.
He further mentioned that every Kenyan possesses the entitlement to freely explore any region within the nation and to pursue their present and future endeavors without restriction.
“This is our country. Despite our diverse ethnic orientation, we are all citizens by birth and so our unity is paramount,” Nyoro stated.
The Member of Parliament, who had a recent disagreement with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua regarding succession politics, supported President William Ruto’s administration by asserting that it did not display favoritism in allocating the National Budget.
“I am a close friend of our President William Ruto. I want to assure you that our President considers all Kenyans equal,” Nyoro stated.
