Kakamega Tycoon Cleophas Shimanyula Reads Foul Play In Senator Khalwale Caretaker’s Death

Mr. Cleophas Shimanyula, a prominent figure in Kakamega County known for his significant investments in sports, construction, real estate, and transportation, has urged authorities to probe the unexpected demise of a caretaker who, up until his passing, was associated with the farm of Kakamega Senator Boniface Khalwale.

Mr. Moi was responsible for caring for the politician’s combat bulls, including the renowned Inasio, which ultimately caused his demise.

During a media interview, Mr. Shimanyula raised concerns about the suspicious nature of Mr. Moi’s death. He confidently asserted that the bull was not responsible for causing Mr. Moi’s demise.

Initial accounts stated that Inasio fatally gored Mr. Moi, aged 47, at the Senator’s residence in Malinya, located in the Ikolomani Constituency.

The corpse was found inside the enclosure of the bull, displaying multiple wounds thought to be inflicted by the bull’s horns.

Mr. Shimanyula, on the other hand, contested this conclusion by asserting that the injuries were not consistent with those caused by a bull’s horn.

Senator Khalwale suggested that Mr. Moi might have been under the influence of alcohol during the incident, leading to a potential provocation of Inasio, who responded aggressively and ended up injuring him.

For two decades, Mr. Moi worked under Senator Khalwale, tending to his bulls.

After the demise, Senator Khalwale opted to perform a cultural ritual by using a spear to bring about the death of Inasio.

Mr. Shimanyula and Senator Khalwale have had a longstanding political disagreement spanning several years.

The media has frequently reported on the exchange of verbal attacks and allegations between the two individuals. On a particular occasion, Senator Khalwale asserted that Mr. Shimanyula had unlawfully acquired government land adjacent to Bukhungu Stadium. In response, Mr. Shimanyula refuted the accusations, attributing them to Khalwale’s envy and insisting that he rightfully owned the land.

In a different scenario, Mr. Shimanyla asserted that Senator Khalwale received a payment of Sh 10 million to abandon his 2022 Kakamega gubernatorial ambitions in support of Cleophas Malala.

He proceeded to clarify that President William Ruto provided Khalwale with an initial payment of Sh 3 million, aiming to secure Malala the position and purportedly dissuade him from persistently advocating for Musalia Mudavadi to become Ruto’s running mate at that particular moment.
