Governor Natembeya Responds To ‘Resemblance’ To Ex-Liverpool Star Sadio Mane

Governor George Natembeya of Trans Nzoia County playfully remarked on the amusing comparisons made between him and former Liverpool striker Sadio Mane.

In a brief video posted on his social media platform, Natembeya mentioned that individuals assert he bears a resemblance to the Senegal international currently affiliated with the Saudi Arabian team Al Nassr.

Natembeya who also spots a new hairstyle that looks like Mane’s, said he did not copy the footballer, and that “it’s Mane who should emulate him because he is younger.”

“I have never thought about his hairstyle. Kawaida yangu nikienda kushave it’s my barber who decides on my hairstyle. Sometimes he says let’s go with this one or the other one,” Natembeya said.

“I cannot role model myself around Mane. He is the one who should take me as his role model because he is younger than me,” Natembeya added amid laughter.

Regarding resembling him, he mentioned that in this world, there will always be someone who bears a resemblance to you.

“I am told in this world there is someone who looks exactly like you. So that happens. I don’t play football though, I am just a commando,” Natembeya joked. 

The newly appointed governor, who previously served as a security officer overseeing the Rift Valley region, gained popularity for his bold statements and contentious comments on issues like banditry and security matters within the Rift Valley area.

He stepped down from his previous position and ran for the gubernatorial seat, successfully securing it on his initial attempt during the 2022 general election.
