Gachagua breaks protocol, invites Jalang’o, KJ to address guests before Ruto
In a notable deviation from the usual protocol at a presidential event, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua created a moment of surprise during a function presided over by President William Ruto in Kajiado County.
The occasion, dedicated to launching construction efforts for the Riruta-Ngong Commuter Rail line in Ngong, took an unexpected turn when Gachagua, following an invitation to speak and introduce President Ruto by Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen, decided to extend the platform to Members of Parliament.
Addressing the gathering, Gachagua took the opportunity to deviate from the scheduled proceedings, stating, “Your Excellency, before I speak a word, allow me to invite Jalang’o to address the audience.”

This unorthodox move was prompted by the enthusiastic crowd repeatedly calling for Lang’ata MP Jalang’o as CS Murkomen delivered his speech.
After Jalang’o shared his thoughts, Gachagua further surprised attendees by inviting Dagoretti South MP KJ to the podium, emphasizing the potential benefits for the people of Dagoretti from the project.
This departure from the formal sequence of events drew attention and added an unexpected element of spontaneity to the event, showcasing a moment of community engagement and political camaraderie amidst the official proceedings.
