The ministry also assigned candidates who achieved scores exceeding 400 marks to their preferred national and extra-county schools.
During his address, Machogu advised parents and guardians of the 2023 candidates to refrain from using intermediaries and instead, acquire placement letters directly by downloading them.
He additionally cautioned school principals against raising school fees without obtaining approval from his Ministry.
He made it clear that the County Education Board doesn’t have the authority to sanction school fees or enforce charges that exceed the limit set by the national government.
“The Constitution obligates the government to provide free and compulsory education, saying additional levies deny children of poor parents access to education,” Machogu stated.
Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, who was with the CS, additionally encouraged the National Treasury to hasten the initial term’s funding for schools before the reopening scheduled for January 2024.
