Fatal Altercation: US Embassy Engineer Shot Dead Outside Kiambu Club

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is currently probing a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 35-year-old man outside Quickin Lounge in Kiambu town on Saturday night.

Alfred Nganga, the proprietor of the nightclub, alerted authorities to the shooting incident on his premises around 0300, as per a police report obtained by Gossipa2z.com.

As indicated by police officers investigating the matter, Anthony Njomo Kiunu, aged 35, succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained during a disturbance that originated indoors but escalated to the exterior of the establishment.

Prior to his demise, Njomo held a position as an engineer at the US Embassy.

Quickin Lounge, in a statement, confirmed that the shooting transpired outside the premises and was captured on surveillance cameras oriented towards the street. The footage, deemed sensitive and thus not for public release, underwent scrutiny in the presence of the deceased’s family and law enforcement before being handed over for further investigation.

While refraining from divulging specifics of the incident, the lounge clarified that the victim was not implicated in the initial altercation.

Responding officers from Kiambu police station reported that the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back with an exit wound on his chest.

Following the incident, the scene was swiftly cleared, and the deceased’s remains were conveyed to the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.

In the interim, a suspect identified as Nason Kiteme, aged 28 and holding the role of Comfort Homes branding manager, has been apprehended in connection to the fatal shooting.
