Esports Kenya President Ronny Lusigi Appointed to Global Esports Federation’s Top Commission

Ronny Lusigi, the President of Esports Kenya, has been selected to join the International Relations and Development Commission of the Global Esports Federation (GEF).

 Lusigi, at just 29 years old, is not only known for his youth but also for his close association with President Ruto. Expressing his gratitude to GEF CEO Paul Foster for the appointment, Lusigi vowed to prioritize the expansion of esports throughout Africa, emphasizing his strong commitment to the continent’s gaming community.

In a statement, Lusigi expressed his honor at being chosen for the position and thanked CEO Foster for entrusting him with this responsibility. He reiterated his dedication to promoting the growth of esports, particularly in Africa, in his new role within the GEF.

“I am humbled by this appointment. Many thanks to our CEO Mr. Foster for entrusting me and my nation with this responsibility. I look forward to contributing to the growth of esports, especially in Africa,” Lusigi said. 

This appointment follows Lusigi’s notable achievement last year when he was elected President of the Esports Kenya Federation at the age of 28, making him the youngest president across all sports federations globally. 

The election, held at Ngong Hills Hotel in Nairobi, saw Lusigi secure 23 votes, significantly outpacing his sole opponent Mwaniki Mwanzia, who received just four votes.

Upon his election, Lusigi expressed enthusiasm about his victory and outlined his commitment to prioritize the development of esports and address the needs of gamers during his presidency.
