Chaos Erupts at Nairobi Restaurant: Andrew Kibe Attacked During Sonko Interview
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko prevented a group of troublemakers from assaulting blogger Andrew Kibe at a restaurant on Ngong Road.
A video shared by the former Governor of Nairobi on Monday depicted a group of young people who stated they had learned about the interview via social media.
The troublemakers later disrupted the interview and allegedly intended to remove Kibe from the place.
The seven-minute video showed Sonko wearing a Gucci sweater, attempting to negotiate with them and eventually escort them out of the location.
The two social media personalities were coming together for the first time since their conflict in 2023, which stemmed from Sonko’s disagreement with Kibe’s frequently contentious discussions.
It is suspected that the thugs went to the restaurant to confront Kibe because of his contentious YouTube show, which was being streamed live on Sonko’s Twitter account.

The video clip revealed that individuals thought to be from Kibera, used offensive language that the blogger chose not to publish.
Our efforts to contact Kibe via his Yafreeka Company were unsuccessful because he didn’t respond to our calls.
The blogger has been a polarizing presence on social media since departing from mainstream media in 2020, where he was a morning show host on Kiss FM.
In November 2020, five months after leaving Radio Africa Group, he established his own media outlet called Rogue Radio.
At that time, Kibe informed Gossipa2z.com that the station would be on air 24 hours a day, providing music and producing content before eventually branching out into news coverage.
“It is the next real thing, not the next big thing. For years, we have had people terming their projects as the ‘next big thing’.
“We want to talk about the truth and offer artists a chance to play their music, which mainstream media does not want to play,” he stated at the time.
