In contrast, the CS revoked ten appointments at various universities.

Irene Caroline Chizupo was fired from Kisii University, Margaret Maimba was expelled from Laikipia University, and Lucy Kiria was removed from her position at Maasai Mara University.

Also dismissed were Jacqueline Muthoni (Masinde Muliro), Harriet Chiggai (South Eastern Kenya University), and Anne Sabania (Technical University of Mombasa).

Renee Kariuki, Nyachae Samuel, Bernard Iria, and Noor Yusuf had their positions at Pwani University revoked, as did Nyachae Samuel.

Initially, the public universities faced a leadership crisis due to the lack of council members to oversee the institutions’ operations.

Therefore, numerous unions exerted pressure on the Department of Education to name council members.
