3 Injured After Helicopter Rushing to Collect KCSE Papers Crashes in Wajir
On Monday, a helicopter accident in Wajir resulted in the injuries of the pilot and two passengers who were aboard.
According to reports, the three individuals were en route to Arbajahan, Northern Kenya County, to retrieve papers submitted by candidates who had participated in the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
Images of the collision obtained by PoliticalPulseChat revealed severe damage to the helicopter’s fuselage and complete disintegration of the cockpit.
Additionally, the helicopter’s rotor and rotary wings, which provide lift above the ground, were damaged in the accident.
As per the statement made by North Eastern Regional Commissioner John Otieno, the three individuals were transported to the medical facility for treatment.
The accident is thought to have transpired within the initial minute following the helicopter’s takeoff.

Despite police investigations into the incident, the cause of the collision has yet to be determined.
In another incident, a police officer was fatally shot in Siaya while accompanying KCSE examination materials; he had been the target of an assault by unidentified assailants.
A colleague and another examination official accompanied the officer when he was assaulted en route to transport exam papers to Mahero Secondary School.
The other officer was transported to the Siaya Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment after sustaining injuries.
“The thugs stole the officer’s firearms, an AK-47 and an MP5, and fled.” “Investigation into the crime is underway,” stated a portion of a police report obtained by PoliticalPulseChat.
Additionally, the authorities have initiated a manhunt for the fugitive assailant.
