Two Gangsters Behind Kibera Insecurity Killed In Fire Exchange With Police
Tuesday, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) executed two notorious criminals who were believed to be instilling fear among the residents of Kibera and its surrounding areas.
The DCI stated in a statement that the apprehension of the two perpetrators, identified as Rundo and Mulinyo, occurred after information provided by members of the public to the police regarding their whereabouts.
One of the suspects pulled his firearm and opened fire indiscriminately at the officers during the operation.
“The wrong move prompted the ever-agile sleuths to respond with finality, fatally injuring the duo,” read the DCI’s statement.
However, the perpetrators were executed by gunfire.
Six rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven spent cartridges, and four projectile heads were recovered in addition to the firearm used by the suspects, according to DCI.
Following this, the bodies of the suspects were transferred to a municipal mortuary for interment.

This occurred after the fatalities of two men by police officers in Alego Usonga, Siaya County, on Wednesday. The suspects were identified as those who were responsible for obstructing the transportation of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) papers to Mahero Secondary School in Siaya County.
Two suspects were slain and two firearms, including an AK-47 and an MP5, were recovered throughout the operation.
“The MP5 and AK47 Rifle were recovered at Hawinga from the house of a suspect who escaped the police dragnet, while two suspects were fatally wounded,” the National Police Service communicated in a statement.
In addition to highlighting the city’s high crime rate, the DCI detained eight suspects on November 15 on suspicion of committing a $439 trillion fraud.
The agency indicated at the time that the suspects had specifically targeted two Dutch foreign businessmen.
Throughout the operation, several containers containing counterfeit US dollars were apprehended.
