Ten Palestinians killed in Nablus clashes with Israeli forces

According to witnesses and Palestinian health officials, ten Palestinians, including an elderly man and several militants, were killed during a raid by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank.

As troops entered the heart of Nablus, explosions and gunfire rang out, sparking armed clashes with gunmen.

According to the Israeli military, its forces have surrounded a structure where three wanted terrorists were hiding.

The men were shot and killed after opening fire on the troops, the report continued.

According to the military, the troops fired back after being fired upon by other armed men and having explosives, petrol bombs, and stones thrown at them during the clashes.

According to the Palestinian health ministry, Adnan Saabe Baara, 72, was among those killed in the raid.

In an area of the old city that is typically a bustling market, video footage captured a corpse in a street next to bread bags.

According to the health ministry, a 61-year-old man named Abdul Hadi Abdul Aziz Ashqar and a 16-year-old boy named Mohammad Farid Shaaban also perished.

More than one hundred additional Palestinians were wounded by gunfire. Seven of them are hospitalized in critical condition.

The Israeli military identified the three militants as Mohammed Abdul Fattah, 23, a member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Walid Dkhail, 23, and Hussam Isleem, 24, both members of the Lion’s Den group.

The military stated that they were suspected of carrying out previous shooting attacks, including one in October that resulted in the death of an Israeli soldier, as well as future ones.

A spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the raid and blamed the Israeli government for “this dangerous escalation, which is pushing the region towards tension and an explosion.”

The Palestinian militant group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, issued a warning that it “is losing patience with the escalating crimes committed by the enemy against our people in the occupied West Bank”

Israel has intensified searches, arrests, and intelligence-gathering raids in Nablus and nearby Jenin over the past year in response to a spate of deadly Palestinian attacks.

Despite this week’s reports of a US-brokered agreement aimed at defusing tensions, this latest incident has occurred.

At least 50 Palestinians, including militants and civilians, have been killed so far this year, while 11 Israelis have been killed by Palestinian attacks.
