Sarah Odero Urges Congregants to Stay Prayerful as Hubby is Arrested: Trust in God as Our Protector
Kilifi – The wife of imprisoned Kilifi pastor Ezekiel Odero has urged the congregation of New Life Prayer Centre to remain devoted to prayer in the wake of her husband’s arrest.
Odero was arrested this morning on suspicion of indoctrination, with suspicions that he is also connected to Pastor Mackenzie, who is in custody for leading a cult that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people.
Ezekiel Odero’s wife speaks
During the time of his arrest this morning, a church service was taking place in his Kilifi megachurch and was being broadcast on the church’s social media platforms.
His wife announced to the congregation what had occurred and stated that services would be canceled for the next few days to allow for investigations.

“I am here to inform you briefly of the current situation. Government officials are conducting investigations. Nothing is wrong, but our services will be unavailable for the next few days. I’m sure you’ve heard a great deal about this on social media and television, and it’s also happening to New Life and other churches,” she said.
“Only prayers can aid us at this time as we allow the government to conduct its investigations. Nothing is impossible for God. She stated, “Those with faith will have God as their defender.”
Sarah stated that they will announce when services will resume.
Pastor Ezekiel’s apprehension
On the morning of Thursday, April 27, the minister was arrested and taken in for questioning regarding the alleged indoctrination and deaths of New Life Prayer Centre and Church members.
Coast Regional Commissioner Rhodha Onyancha confirmed the incident by stating that the self-proclaimed pastor was apprehended by joint security teams.
Earlier, Ezekiel was questioned by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives. Regarding the construction of the Milele Funeral Home near his church.
According to Onyancha, the pastor was arrested after the aforementioned morgue workers confirmed multiple deaths at his church.
