Ruto’s Presidential Honor: Kimani Ichung’wah and MPs Shine in Nominations

The public has been invited by Parliament to provide feedback on the nominated Members of Parliament who are scheduled to receive Presidential awards.

By Tuesday, November 14, Kenyans were strongly encouraged to provide their viewpoints to the joint secretariat of the Parliamentary Honours Advisory Committee.

President William Ruto is scheduled to present the awards on December 12, which are among the legislators nominated for the honors. Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho Senator), Kimani Ichung’wah (Kikuyu MP), Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja MP), and Justice Madzayo (Kilifi Senator) are among the nominees.

Four individuals were elected to the Elder of the Golden Heart Order (EGH).

In the interim, the Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (MGH) award will be presented to former United Democratic Alliance (UDA) chairman Johnson Muthama and Senator Tabitha ‘Keroche’ Karanja of Nakuru.

Partisans nominated for the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) included Senator Edwin Sifuna of Nairobi, one of 37 members of parliament.

Seven directors, nevertheless, received nominations for the Order of the Grand Warrior Award.

Regarding honoraries, the National Honors and Awards Committee advises the President. Nominated by individuals, county commissioners, government agencies, religious institutions, non-governmental organizations, and other community-based organizations are the recipients.

The highest honor, the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (CGH), is typically bestowed upon incumbent presidents and notable military or religious figures.

The incumbent Deputy President, Speakers of the National Assembly and Senate, Cabinet Secretaries, the First and Second Ladies, the Chief of Staff of the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF), and the Head of Public Service are all recipients of the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (EGH) award.

This honor is bestowed by the Order of the Burning Spear (OBS) upon professionals, public dignitaries, and exemplary public servants.

Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS), Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS), and Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) are the three seniority-based divisions of the Order.

The Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) is bestowed upon individuals who have exhibited exceptional loyalty to the nation across diverse roles.

As per the directives of the Parliamentary Honours Advisory Committee, handwritten materials are not acceptable for submission.
