President Ruto To Sign Affordable Housing Bill Into Law On Monday
President William Ruto will Monday morning assent to the Affordable Housing Bill to pave the way for the return of housing levy deductions.
During an interdenominational prayer service in Trans Mara on Sunday, Ruto affirmed yet again that he will be signing into law the bill that was passed by both chambers of parliament in concurrence.
Both the Senate and the National Assembly passed the bill last week, with amendments introduced in the bill including bringing county governments to the fold.
Governors had earlier through public participation raised concerns on why the national government is implementing the housing program yet the function is devolved.
Governors will now form county liaison committees to oversee the implementation of the program.
