Pastor Ezekiel’s Global Gift: Free Education for Needy Students
Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life church has been in the news for a variety of reasons, including the vast tract of land in Kilifi County that houses his megachurch and other structures.
The 65-acre property of the pastor includes hotels, malls, and a helipad. Odero has also made it clear that his multimillion-dollar investment will boost the economy of the Coast region.
Odero has also established a multimillion-dollar school in the region, the Kilifi International School, which charges more than Ksh200,000 per term.
However, during his final sermon, the pastor announced that it would be free for all needy pupils in the country and abroad, with preference given to Kilifi residents.
“Therefore Kilifi International School will not charge any fee. Besides that it will not be a normal school, we will not go back to the local curriculum we will stick to the international one,” he stated.
Odero disclosed that pupils from needy families whose parents struggle to pay school fees would be given priority.
He added that the student’s performance would also be considered when admitting students to the institution.
“You find some students are bright but no one will help them. Kilifi International School is here to help, they will not pay for anything including food and accommodation. This is our sacrifice for October,” he remarked.
Those who have already paid the fee will be permitted to continue their education but will not be charged for subsequent school terms, he revealed.

The televangelist disclosed that God inspired him to offer free education to the destitute by asking him to sacrifice more for the community.
Kilifi International School is an educational institution located in Mavueni, Kilifi County, that provides pupils with a quality education. It is a renowned international junior and senior high school.
“We offer International Cambridge and Pearson Curriculum allowing students to combine a global academic perspective with exciting extracurricular activities,” the school states in an official bio.
It includes a 50-by-25-meter swimming pool where students can hone their swimming abilities and compete on an international level.
In addition, it features a contemporary theater, multipurpose sports and cultural facilities, and laboratories for a variety of scientific disciplines.
Pastor Ezekiel urged Kenyans to give their best during charitable activities to receive the desired favors.
By the new directive, he informed all parents who had applied for positions but had not received a response that they should consider other options, as the school is shifting its strategy to prioritize pupils with special needs.
He stated that he would disclose the percentages allocated to Kilifi students, students from other counties, and international students.
