Newly Wedded Couple Beaten, Robbed by Gang of 8 Before Honeymoon- 2 Arrested

On Wednesday night, investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) apprehended two individuals believed to be involved in a group of eight men that allegedly robbed a recently married couple in Kajiado County.

Detectives suspect that the gang targeted the holding room situated in the Kiserian region of Kajiado, where the couple was staying before their honeymoon trip.

On March 18, during the incident, the gang invaded the residence and proceeded to pilfer presents, household goods, and electronic devices.

“Armed with all manner of crude weapons, the malefactors forced entry into the apartment located at Olooseos area of Kiserian, by scaling the wall of the apartment and cutting a window grill,” detectives noted.

The groom tried to defend the bride from the thug, but his attempts failed miserably when he was severely beaten.

Realizing that the neighbors might have heard the noise, the group quickly brought in and placed two television sets, one measuring 44 inches and the other 58 inches, into position.

Upon receiving the report, crime researchers in the Nairobi region collaborated with police officers from Kajiado West Sub County to track down the suspects.

In the intelligence-driven mission, the detectives pursued two individuals suspected of being associated with the gang. The suspects were apprehended in the Kiserian township.

The pair underwent a brief questioning session before guiding the investigators to their hideaway in Olooseos, where certain stolen possessions were retrieved.

The arrest occurred four days following the apprehension of two individuals suspected of robbing a homicide victim in Dandora Phase IV, located in Nairobi County.

The DCI stated that one of the two suspects was discovered with a phone, which he had received from his accomplice, who had in turn obtained it from the main suspect in the murder case.
