Miguna In Kisumu, Miguna reacts to Ruto’s apology.

According to Miguna, President William Ruto personally apologized on behalf of the government and himself.

Miguna Miguna, an outspoken lawyer who was deported to Canada during the second term of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, has broken his silence after President William Ruto, who was the Deputy President at the time of his deportation, apologized to him.

The Head of State expressed heartfelt regret to Miguna, noting that the lawyer had been treated unfairly.

President Ruto apologized at the Kisumu State Lodge through statements released by Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi and the lawyer.

“I am sorry for what the government did to you; it was unfair, and I apologize on behalf of the government,” the President told Miguna, according to the duo.

The fiery lawyer took to social media shortly after receiving the apology to confirm that he accepted it.

“President William Ruto apologized to me on his and the government’s behalf.

“The apology was because of the brutality that was inflicted upon me by the previous administration. “I accept your apology,” Miguna wrote.

The fiery lawyer was abruptly deported on February 6, 2018, just days after presiding over the mock inauguration of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as The People’s President on January 30, 2018.

Ruto stated that he did not agree with Miguna’s deportation and promised to make it easier for him to return to the country.

“We will bring Miguna back into the country within the shortest time possible because he is a Kenyan and he has not committed any crime.

“Even if he has, we have laws in place against him,” Ruto told the press on March 4, 2022.

Miguna returned to the country on October 20, 2022, barely a month after the president made his promise.
