Kenyans online have expressed mixed reactions to a viral video showing Limuru Member of Parliament (MP) Kiragu Chege being roughed up and chased by irate residents.
Many have alleged that the legislator hired goons to disrupt a funeral session former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua attended.

In one of the clips shared on TikTok, can be seen walking down a road held closely by three men in civilian clothes, seemingly his security guards.
Behind him, a crowd of angry residents shouts and mutters words in the vernacular as they follow him down the road.
The MP can be seen worried as he is led down the road to safety.

Nyeri residents chase away police officers

In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that drama unfolded in Nyeri town as residents chased away police officers attempting to disrupt a political rally organized by Gachagua’s allies.
The incident occurred when Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang’wa addressed locals after spending much of the day at the DCI offices following a summon.
According to reports, the police arrived to stop the political rally, but the agitated crowd chased them away.
