Leicester Appoint Dean Smith as Interim Manager

Dean Smith has been appointed as the new manager of Leicester City until the end of the current season.

Smith, who is 52 years old, managed Norwich, Aston Villa, and Brentford in the past.

Leicester City is in a dire situation as they are two points away from safety in the relegation zone following Saturday’s home loss to Bournemouth.

Smith stated that he was prepared for the challenge and that he and his coaching staff had previously encountered similar circumstances.

He is optimistic about the quality of the team and the remaining games, stating that the objective is attainable.

His first game as Leicester manager will be an away match against Premier League champions Manchester City.

Craig Shakespeare will return to the King Power Stadium as assistant manager to Smith.

Shakespeare was a member of Claudio Ranieri’s backroom staff when Leicester won the 2016 Premier League championship.

He eventually succeeded the Italian as manager.

Smith’s coaching staff will include former England captain John Terry, who played for Aston Villa under Smith, as well as the club’s current first-team coaches Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell.

Dean Smith has been hired as the interim manager of Leicester City until the end of the current season.

Despite being in the relegation zone, he is confident that he and his coaching staff can improve the team’s performance.

In addition to Craig Shakespeare, the coaching staff will include John Terry, Adam Sadler, and Mike Stowell.
