Kindiki’s Caution to Azimio: No Demo Restart on Failed Talks

If the bipartisan talks fail, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has warned the opposition party Azimio La Umoja not to return to protests.

He stated that he will not permit politicians to instill terror in innocent people to achieve political goals.

Kindiki stated, “As the political class convenes to deliberate on various issues, violence should never be a factor.”

“No one will be permitted to terrorize or blackmail the people of Kenya through violence and destruction of public and private property, regardless of whether the leaders agree or disagree on any issue.”

He spoke during a church service at Nyeri’s Abundant New Life Church.

He went on to state that as minister of the interior, he will ensure that peace prevails in the country and that political violence is curbed.

“The peace and tranquility of our country is the responsibility of all citizens, regardless of their political, religious, or community differences,” he said.

“We must eliminate violence from our nation’s political equation.”

He urged Kenyans to support President William Ruto by giving him the time he needs to rehabilitate the economy, which will also generate employment.

Kindiki stated, “The third President of Kenya, Mzee Mwai Kibaki, demonstrated that our nation is capable of developing and expanding its economy without relying on the taxes of other nations.”

“We must support His Excellency President William Ruto’s efforts to rebuild our nation’s economy through efficient revenue collection, prudent resource management, and investment in development policies and projects.”

According to him, this will stimulate economic development from the bottom up and create opportunities for millions of people, particularly the young.

Governor of Nyeri Mutahi Kahiga, Senator Wahome Wamatinga, MPs, MCAs, and National and County Government dignitaries were also in attendance.
