Kenyans Will Be Urging Ruto for Higher Taxes Next Year, Says MP

Mbeere North MP Geoffery Ruku claims that by July of next year, Kenyans will be grateful to President William Ruto’s administration for making good use of their taxes.

In an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday, Ruku stated that citizens will want Ruto to increase taxes since there will be numerous benefits.

“By July of next year, we will be asking William Ruto to tax us more because we have seen what you are doing with our taxes,” Ruku predicted.

“Kenyans will tell the government, look at what you’ve done with our taxes, you’ve revolutionized our economy.” If this is how you’re handling our taxes, please tax us more.”

He stated that decreasing the cost of living is a process that requires more time from the government.

“This government has been in power for less than nine months,” Ruku explained.

“The budget that was read last month was this government’s first budget.” Let’s see how this budget is implemented, and then we’ll judge the administration in July of next year.”

He told Kenyans that the government had put programs in place to reduce the cost of living.

The MP stated that any state official who misuses Kenyans’ money will be prosecuted.

“Anyone in Ruto’s government who misuses taxpayers’ money will be hanged in the tallest tree in Uhuru Park,” Ruku added.
On Wednesday, Ruto emphasized that protests and Sufuria clothing will not reduce the cost of life.

Meanwhile, Azimio leaders have stated that they would continue to picket until Ruto addresses their concerns.
