Katy Perry’s Regret: Passing on Billie Eilish

Katy Perry, 38, reportedly decided not to collaborate with Billie Eilish because she was “meh” about the singer’s vocals. During a recent Q&A, she admitted the omission was a “huge mistake.”

Katy Perry admits that turning down the opportunity to work with “boring” Billie Eilish was one of her biggest career mistakes.

One of Katy’s friends recommended she check out Billie in 2016, but she was unimpressed at the time.

She discussed the massive failure during a Q&A at a private event for Los Angeles-based station KIIS-FM.

She informed the audience that her friend had sent her the following email: “Take a look at this new artist. I’d love for us to collaborate with her because she previously worked with me at Unsub [Records].”

“It was a song called Ocean Eyes, and it was just a blonde girl,” she explained.

    “Huge, huge mistake,” she added.

She then joked, “Don’t let this go viral.”

Billie has won numerous awards since 2016, including becoming the youngest singer in history to headline Glastonbury and receiving a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar for her song No Time To Die, which was featured as the swan song on Daniel Craig’s James Bond.

Katy wore a pair of light green leather trousers with zips down the front and a collared green and white long-sleeved shirt during the Q&A.

Her signature black hair was pulled back in an updo, with layers falling around her face.

She recently attended the 20th G’Day USA Arts Gala with Orlando Bloom’s ex Miranda Kerr, wearing a metallic floor-length ballgown skirt.

She wore her hair up and wore her skirt with a bralette, revealing earrings with chain detail.

The event honors Australians who have made a name for themselves in the entertainment industry in the United States.

Miranda, who was dressed in a stunning white bodycon dress, received the Excellence in the Arts award from Katy.

Miranda opted for a classic Hollywood glam look, complete with retro waves and sparkling earrings.

Katy and Orlando began dating in 2016, got engaged in 2019, and are expecting their first child, Daisy, in 2020.

Miranda has stated that she and Katy have a close relationship and frequently spend time together at family events.

Miranda and The Pirates of the Caribbean star have a son named Flynn, born in 2011.

“When it comes to special occasions when we have to be together, we work it out so we have compromises [about] what is the best for our entire family,” she said on the Drew Barrymore Show in November 2020.

“We always think about what is best for Flynn, and I think that’s the most important thing.”
