Jalang’o’s Reveals Plan B if ODM Expels Him
Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, a Langata representative, announced on Thursday that he will file an appeal if the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Disciplinary Committee expels him from the party.
During a radio interview, the Langata member of parliament discussed the difficulties he has encountered in the party since aligning himself politically with President William Ruto.
The representative, who has become a pariah in his party for his political decisions, insisted that he will not quit the party that sponsored his election to the House of Representatives.
“Baba (Raila) and I have never had any significant disagreements; I adore Baba, a political figure, father figure, and everything. I’ve never wronged him, and I’ve never quit the ODM party, and I never will, said Jalang’o.
“We will appeal, even if the case goes all the way to the Supreme Court,” insisted Jalang’o.
He added that his relationship with Raila has never waned and that he has always monitored the Azimio leader.

The former entertainer remained adamant that he will continue to collaborate with President William Ruto, claiming that he is being unjustly maligned because other ODM members have collaborated with the Head of State without facing the same level of scrutiny.
The first-term representative attributed his relationship with the president to his determination to deliver development to his constituents in Lang’ata and, more generally, Nyanza.
During the interview, the member of parliament disclosed that he had called Raila before hosting President Ruto in Lang’ata to inaugurate Affordable Housing Development projects. The representative therefore pondered why the decision had resulted in his isolation.
Jalango is a member of a group of ODM dissident politicians who have been attacked by ODM loyalists for defying Raila and going against the grain.
Already, the party has taken disciplinary action against the politicians.
Raila has demanded, as part of his demands in the bipartisan negotiations with Kenya, Kwanza, that the dissident politicians resign and seek a new mandate from the electorate.
