HIV/AIDS Healed at Prophet Owuor’s Church – Dr. Kochei Testifies to Senate

Monday, the Senate Ad hoc Committee on Shakahola heard that several individuals who had participated in Prophet David Owuor’s faith healing programs over the years had been proven cured.

Dr. Toromo Kochei, the Rift Valley provincial coordinator of the Kenya National Aids and STI Control Programme (NASCOP), informed the committee that under the authority of NASCOP, he conducted a detailed history of the patients who claimed to be cured and found that they had been completely recovered.

He provided the committee with the names of at least three HIV patients who had allegedly been cured of the disease by faith healing, stating that reports of patients being cured by miracles were not fantastical.

“I assert that miracles do occur. Dr. Toromo told the committee, “Do not refute this.”

“We have here Samson, who HIV has benefited but who remains HIV-negative. When we focus on this rehabilitation, our nation will benefit.”

He told the Senate Committee that Prophet Owuor’s church routinely dispatches healed patients to hospitals to confirm their illnesses.

Dr. Toromo is a member of televangelist Prophet Owuor’s defense team, which was presented before the Senate by the church to demonstrate the legitimacy and scientific verifiability of miracles.

According to Dr. Toromo, there was also a case in which a woman who had her uterus removed became impregnated through faith healing.

“The church of the prophet Owuor dispatches them to doctors to verify the performed miracles. And we have conducted miracles in which HIV/AIDS patients were cured and a woman whose uterus was removed became pregnant. I personally verified it as a physician,” he added.

Although he acknowledges that there is no conventional cure for HIV, Prophet Owuor has for years preached that faith healing can cure the disease whose cure has baffled scientists for three decades.
