Governor Simba Arati: Ruto’s 2022 Win Was Fair and Square
Despite being affiliated with the opposition Azimio coalition, Governor Simba Arati of Kisii has stated that he is determined to work with President William Ruto’s administration to bring development to the county.
Arati acknowledged the Kenya Kwanza leader as the legitimate victor of the highly contested 2022 presidential election on Sunday, during an interdenominational prayer service at Nyanturago Stadium that Ruto attended.
“Mimi ni Gavana wa Kisii niko tayari kazi na serikali kuu. “For the sake of development, I must collaborate with the National government,” he declared.
“Rais ulitushinda kura nataka nikuulize ulikuwa na ODM. “Sahii weee ni ras”
Arati called for dialogue between the president and opposition leader Raila Odinga to resolve the impasse that has resulted in the opposition leader calling for anti-government protests that have resulted in the deaths of over twenty persons.
However, the governor refuted claims by some Kenya Kwanza leaders that Odinga seeks to form a coalition government with Ruto.
“Sahii kila mtu anakupea heko…kando na kwamba kuna Baba anaomgoza maandano na Sisi tunafuata yeye wewe kama Kiomgozi itamzee kaa nayeye na hatutaki nusu mkate,” Arati remarked to the Head of State.
Arati urged tolerance among political leaders, stating that Kenya’s growth depends on its unity.

“Iwe lazima na Adabu kisi…Viongozi tuwe na subra hakuna malaika atashuka kutoka mbinguni ni sisi ndio tutasaidia watu wetu viongozi tuwe na subra hakuna malaika atashuka kutoka mbinguni ni sisi ndio tutasaidia watu wetu,”
Simultaneously, the leader of Kisii County presented President Ruto with a list of projects that his constituents desire from the national government, including a state-of-the-art renovation of Nyanturago Stadium and market kiosks in Kisii town.
“Tunataka uwanja huu utengenzwe vizuri kama ile ya Gusii Stadium…pia tunataka Kisii CBD soko itengenezwe kwa njia ya kisasa,” explained Arati.
The governor, who claimed that Odinga advised him to avoid demonstrations and work with the government for the sake of development, also advocated for an aerodrome at Nyangusu, claiming that land for one was readily available.
“We will support anything that can be done regarding housing in Kisii. Arati noted that Mambo na uwanja wa ndege ni muhimu sana; tuko na uwanja ambao tuko nayo wa Nyangusu…na itaconnect three counties.
He lauded Ruto as a man with a pure heart who seeks the best for the nation and pledged to support his agenda and mobilize other Gusii leaders to do the same.
“Tutakuja State House viongozi kuja kuleta… Your agenda has our support, uko na roho safi na hiyo roho ipeleke taifa letu mbele. Arati stated, “Unajua wewe hukunywi pombe na uko sober.”
