US Ambassador Confirms Fairness of Kenya’s 2022 Election
Meg Whitman, the United States ambassador to Kenya, has stated once again that she believes the general election in 2022 was the most credible and free in the country.
Whitman made these remarks during the official opening of the devolution conference that was held in Eldoret. He stated that the confirmation by the Supreme Court was evidence that the election had been carried out openly and honestly.
“I arrived in Kenya days before the general election, and what I witnessed was nothing short of remarkable,” she remarked among cheers and claps from the throng, which included President William Ruto.
She pointed out that the election has been described as the “freest, fairest, and most credible election in the history of Kenya” by several observers and analysts. She said this was the case.
“The election was observed by local and international election organizations,” she said, “and the results were upheld by the Kenyan Supreme Court, and the orderly and peaceful transition of power occurred at the time.”

In April of this year, the envoy made these remarks when speaking to American companies. He asserted that Kenya had the fairest and most democratic election.
Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition party Azimio, however, disagreed with it and accused the US ambassador of allegedly taking sides and compromising the effort to achieve electoral justice.
At the same time, Whitman encouraged international investors to put their money into Kenya by pointing out that the country had the most secure democracy in all of Africa.
According to her, Kenya serves as a regional financial and logistical hub in addition to having a market that contains over 500 million customers.
“Kenya is the gateway to East Africa,” she said, noting that the Mombasa port handles 80 percent of trade and that JKIA is the busiest airport in East Africa. “Kenya is the busiest airport in East Africa,” she added.
