Gatundu South Residents: Hands Off Uhuru! CS Kuria Warned
In response to what they perceive to be an attack on former President Uhuru Kenyatta and the wider Kenyatta family, several residents of Gatundu South have taken issue with Moses Kuria, who is the Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Industry, and Investment.
On Friday, residents staged a protest over recent statements made by Kuria. They accused him of showing disrespect towards the former President and his family, and they asked him to stop his behavior immediately.
“Mzee ako nyumbani kuangalia watoto wake, na mtoto akiteleza kidogo ni lazima umwambie hiyo sio njia nzuri. Tuko hapa kuambia Kuria kama mtoto wetu kuwa hiyo misemo yake na huo mwendendo wake si mzuri sababu hio si desturi ya Mkikuyu kufanya hivyo,” elder Njuguna Mwaura said.

“Mama Ngina Kenyatta ni kama mama yake na ni mama ya founder of this nation kwa hivyo aachane na huyo kabisa.”
The locals are demanding an apology from Kuria to the Kenyattas at the same time as they are urging President William Ruto to rein in his Cabinet Secretary.
During his speech on Sunday at Gatundu Stadium, which was part of the Nduuma ya Mt. Kenya celebration, Kuria lambasted the former President and threatened to break into Kenyatta’s residence in Ichaweri and relieve himself in public.
The Cabinet Secretary went on to caution the former Head of State against allegedly undermining the administration of President William Ruto and asked Kenyatta to show respect for Ruto.
