Emotional Visit to Missing Mom’s Scene with Dive Expert and Partner

MISSING Nicola Bulley’s partner went to the location where she went missing today to speak with a dive expert leading a river search.

Nicola, 45, was last seen around 9.15 a.m. on January 27 in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire.

There has been no sign of the mother since then, and the search is now on its 12th day.

Today, Nicola’s partner Paul Ansell went to the site where specialist divers are scouring a river with sonar.

He was seen conversing with Peter Faulding, who is leading the search, as well as one of Nicola’s friends and a detective.

The forensic expert told the father, “she’s not here,” as the group stood on the spot where Nicola was last seen.

It came after police targeted dive expert Peter, the owner of Specialist Group International (SGI).

He told several news outlets that Nicola was not in the River Wyre and that she may have been abducted.

The expert even asked Paul if Nicola had any “enemies” after initially suspecting she had been kidnapped.

However, in an interview with The Sun yesterday, he reversed his position and stated that he now believed she was in the water.

Nicola had “sadly fallen in the river,” according to Lancashire Police.

“Mr. Faulding isn’t included in all the investigation detail any more than the members of the public that I’m briefing through these types of press conferences,” Supt Sally Riley said.

The police department confirmed yesterday that they are keeping an “open mind” about her disappearance.

Nicola’s disappearance, however, has not been linked to anything “suspicious,” according to Supt Riley.

“Every third party or criminal element has been investigated and discounted,” she added.

Police were also forced to issue warnings to amateur detectives about trespassing on vacant properties.

The officer urged the public not to “take matters into their own hands” and to avoid online speculation because it could “hurt” Nicola’s family.

She went on to say: “It’s also not helpful if people, especially those who have come from outside the area, try to take the law into their own hands by breaking into the vacant property, for example.

“They may have good intentions and wish to assist. They can, however, assist by reflecting on what information they may have of relevance to the police and keeping the family in their thoughts if they were in the area.

“But we will not tolerate online abuse of anyone, including innocent witnesses, members of the family and friends, of local businesses, or criminal damage or burglary. As you would expect, we will take a firm stance on this.”

Supt Sally Riley also went over the specifics of the massive investigation.

She stated that police are investigating 500 “active” pieces of information and lines of inquiry, but “nothing of note” has been discovered.

Officers are speaking with the drivers of 700 vehicles that passed through the village around 9.10 am/9.15 am on the morning of Nicola’s disappearance.

The search is “complex,” according to Supt Riley because the river can be fast-moving and parts of the water are tidal.

“It remains our belief that Nicola fell into the river and that this is a missing person investigation,” she added.

“We are completely open to any information indicating where Nicola is and what happened to her.”

Officers previously revealed more information about Nicola’s final movements in an update on her disappearance.

They claimed she did not leave the field where she was walking Willow via Rowanwater, either through the site or the adjacent piece of land.

A dog walker who knows Nicola saw her walking around the lower field with her springer spaniel Willow about seven minutes later, according to police.

Their two dogs interacted briefly, according to the witness, before she left Nicola via the river path.

At 8.53 a.m., the mother emailed her boss at Exclusively Mortgages.

She then logged into a Teams call at 9.01 am and was last seen walking Willow on the upper field around nine minutes later.

According to police, the work call ended at 9.30 a.m., but Nicola remained logged on.

The phone and Willow were discovered on a bench by the river around 9.35 a.m., but there was no sign of Nicola.

Nicola has been described as white, 5ft 3ins tall, and with shoulder-length light brown hair.

She was last seen wearing an ankle-length black quilted gilet jacket, a waist-length black Engelbert Strauss coat, and black tight-fitting jeans.

She was wearing long green walking socks, ankle-length green Next wellies, a necklace, and a pale blue Fitbit.

Nicola speaks with an Essex accent and is from the Thornton-Cleveleys neighborhood near Blackpool.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 101 and reference log 473 from January 27, or dial 999 for immediate sightings.
