CS Kindiki Warns: No Mercy for Those Manipulating Kenyans Using Religion
Cabinet Secretary for the Interior, Kithure Kindiki, has reaffirmed that the government will not spare anyone found guilty of manipulating Kenyans with religion during the purge of rogue ministers.
During a Sunday Thanksgiving service at the Victory Revival church in Tharaka Nithi County, he warned that there is no room for dishonest religious teachers who use religion as bait to harm Kenyans.
“The government will vigorously oppose anyone who uses religion to harm Kenyans,” he said.
“We will pursue all those hiding in churches to steal and harm people using the Bible in the same manner we pursued bandits until we ensure Kenyans receive justice,” he said.

This follows President William Ruto’s directive to establish a 17-member task force to review the legal and regulatory frameworks governing religious organizations in Kenya.
In a notice published in the official gazette on May 5, President Ruto announced that Reverend Mutava Musyimi will chair the committee for the next six months.
The latter was prompted by the revelation of the disturbing Shakahola starvation cult, which resulted in the discovery of 253 bodies as of Sunday.
The government is collaborating closely with security agencies and pertinent authorities to investigate the deaths and allegations of torture and inhumane treatment of followers of controversial self-proclaimed pastor Paul Mackenzie and his Kilifi County-based Good News International Church.
According to CS Kindiki, the search for survivors and bodies of those who died in the starvation cult will extend to the neighboring Tsavo East National Park as autopsies on the recovered bodies commence.
