CS Kindiki Orders Nationwide Transfer of Police Officers
On Friday, March 8, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki declared the prompt relocation of police officers who have been stationed at a single location for more than three years.
In a security briefing held in Murang’a County, the Cabinet Secretary emphasized that the program aimed to alleviate potential conflicts of interest.
Kindiki elaborated that the instruction aimed not only to thwart internal subversion but also to enhance operational effectiveness within the security sector.
“The 3-year transfer policy must apply mandatorily for all Police Officers Countrywide,” Kimdki stated.
Kindiki additionally instructed police leaders nationwide to guarantee rigorous adherence to security protocols and operational directives.
The CS emphasized that the aim is to guarantee complete adherence to government guidelines for eliminating harmful and toxic substances.
In addition, the Chief Secretary also addressed the continuing efforts to combat illegal alcohol throughout the nation. Kindiki noted that the nationwide crackdown is an ongoing operation that will persist until the issue is fully addressed.

“Unlike past operations that were hampered by competing political and commercial interests, the ongoing exercise is a security operation to tackle a national threat and is devoid of politics,” the CS remarked.
The police transfer order follows a week after the Chief of Staff issued a strong caution to police personnel engaging in unlawful collaboration with criminals for their own benefit.
Kindki, in issuing a cautionary notice, emphasized that any officers caught collaborating with criminals would face termination and legal action, rather than being relocated to different stations as previously practiced.
The Chief Secretary also praised law enforcement personnel who demonstrate diligence and commitment in addressing criminal activity in regions known for banditry.
“I appreciate the effort of many of our security officers in areas that have for years faced the challenge of banditry and livestock theft. You are working in difficult and risky terrains, and your sacrifice is invaluable,” the CS noted.
