A report by Citizen Digital states that Police Constable Peter Mburu, alongside friends, visited a bar in Mihango near the National Police College Campus at around 9:30 p.m.
After hours of drinking, the group moved to a different location and continued until 2:00 a.m. when they separated.
On his way to his parents’ home in Green Court, Mihang’o, Mburu was confronted by two individuals on a boda boda.

During the altercation, the boda boda riders stole a Ceska pistol with 15 bullets, a wallet containing a certificate of appointment, bank cards, and a phone.
The officer then reported the incident to a nearby station. Officers from Mihang’o and DCI Kayole inspected the scene and the bars where Mburu had been.
They also visited his parents’ home in Green Court.
His wife confirmed that Mburu left the house armed earlier that day.
Appearing intoxicated, Mburu was taken into custody to aid the investigation.
During questioning, he couldn’t identify where the incident occurred. He had visible injuries on his mouth, elbows, and right knee, with torn trousers and a t-shirt.
Authorities have now begun efforts to recover the stolen firearm.
