Body Of Missing Hairdresser Jane Mwende Found Dumped In Pit Latrine
The body of the missing beautician, who had been missing for two weeks, was discovered in a pit latrine in the Mlolongo area, just a few kilometers from her workplace.
Jane Mwende Mwanzia’s decomposing body was discovered after the suspects led the police to the crime site.
The suspects detained last week in connection with Mwende’s disappearance misled detectives to a Magongo forest in the Wote region of Makueni County.
In a dramatic turn of events, the suspects altered the story led the police to Kiserian before disclosing that Mwende’s body was actually discovered in Mlolongo.
Since the 29-year-old went missing two weeks ago, her family, friends, and coworkers have been frantically and doggedly searching for her. They have visited numerous police stations, hospitals, and even morgues without success.
On Friday, August 25, early in the morning, Jane Mwende reportedly received a phone call from a person posing as a client in need of her hairdressing services at their residence. She departed and never returned.

“Alipigiwa simu asubuhi kitu saa tatu. saa nne..wakati aliondoka alienda hajawai rudi…,” recounts Winnie Munyau, a hairdresser at the salon.
“Alitoka hapa lakini hakusema anaenda wapi… alichukua tu simu na akaenda…,” added Jennifer Mwende who also works at the salon.
Concerns intensified when Jane did not report to work the next day. Her phone remained off-hook.
Jane’s disappearance became evident when she failed to pick up her child from her Yatta home in Machakos after the August holiday.
The Mlolongo Police Station is currently investigating a possible link between Jane’s disappearance and her involvement in a love triangle and the real estate industry.
Jane and another woman in Mlolongo town are allegedly involved in a dispute with a man who has already been questioned by police. Since Jane’s disappearance, the other woman has never been seen in Mlolongo town.
