Tragic Uasin Gishu Murder: Ex-Convict Brutally Beheads Lover
A man is being held by police in the Kaptebe region of Uasin Gishu County on suspicion of murdering and decapitating his lover before fleeing.
Following an argument, the suspect identified as Eliud Kipchoge allegedly attacked and stabbed Sheila Kirwa, 35, eight times.
“…kuna kijana alimuua mwanamke na baada ya kumuua akamchinja na akatenganishwa kichwa na tunapokuwa hapa tuko katika shughuli ya kutafuta kichwa,” explained the County Chief Officer Mary Kerich.
Tuesday evening, Kipchoge allegedly attacked the deceased and stabbed her before beheading her. According to reports, the deceased and the suspect had a failed romantic relationship.
The decedent was wed to John Kirwa, and they had three children together.

“Mama alichinjwa kama ng’ombe na akadungwa kisu mara kadhaa… mara nane. Mama alikuwa ni mtu mkunywaji ingawa mimi sikunywi,” John Kirwa, widower.
According to reports, the suspect is a repeat offender who served time in prison. Villagers claimed he once severed his mother-in-law’s fingers.
“Na huyu kijana ameshika huyu mwanamke kama mke wake na ni wa mwenzake . Huyu jamaa ameshafungwa karibu miaka 7; amechoma nyumba ya mama mkwe lakini hatua haijachukuliwa mpaka amekata mama mkwe vidole,” John Seremu, a village elder said.
John Kirwa, the widower, claims he was aware of his wife’s affair with the suspect. Who threatened him when he confronted him.
“Kwanza nimempata mara nyingi akiwa na yeye na tukipigana kila wakati yeye huwa na silaha….nimemweleza awachane na familia yangu lakini hasikii na hivi juzi alinitishia maisha na kisu,” Kirwa added.
The villagers have been on a search mission to locate the head that has gone missing.
The deceased’s body was transferred to the Kimbilio Kipkaren Hospital morgue as the suspect awaits his day in court to face murder charges.
