Kioni’s Daring 3-Day Escape from Police Pursuit!
Jeremiah Kioni, the embattled secretary general of the Jubilee Party, disclosed that he had to turn off his phone, among other measures, to avoid the police crackdown on opposition politicians during the three-day antigovernment demonstrations.
Kioni explained on Monday, July 24, that he had turned off his phone to prevent the police from tracing his location, a tactic that was reportedly used to capture other opposition figures.
“From Wednesday to Sunday, I did not use these phones to avoid being the police who are tracking and chasing people,” he disclosed.
During an interview with Spice Fm, Kioni revealed that he had also traveled to Ndaragua surreptitiously to avoid the arrests of protest-supporting leaders.
Kioni also described how he proceeded to the residence of former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga in Laikipia shortly after his arrest during a police night raid.
“I went to Laikipia in search of Maina Njenga, but he was not there. “The populace was so terrified that the sound of a vehicle could send them fleeing for their lives,” said the former lawmaker.

Notably, GossipA2Z attempted to contact Kioni via phone call and text message on Saturday, July 22 but received no response.
However, Kioni has stated that he has no fear of the police, even though they plan to escalate anti-Ruto protests this week.
“As I entered, I noticed a white Subaru parked outside. I asked the security officer who it belonged to, and he speculated that it belonged to a building visitor. You can never be sure if something is yours or if its proprietors have ulterior motives, he stated.
The former member of parliament for Ndaragwa insisted that the police witch-hunts will not slow down the fight for change in the country.
Kioni explained that Kenyans were hungry and furious at the current regime for ignoring their cries, even though leaders mocked his antics of placing sufurias on his head.
“You know, as a society, we have a tendency to say we’re fine even when things are bad, but people are suffering out there,” he remarked.
