Deadly Orders: Munya Alleges Gun-Trained Squad Targets Protesters
Former Agriculture CS Peter Munya has stated that the people of Mount Kenya are peaceful and know how to exercise their democratic rights without causing chaos, plundering, or property destruction.
Munya asserted that there is a police unit with orders to shoot and murder innocent Kenyans participating in the Azimio protests.
“Police officers incite those who are destroying property, killing, and burning houses,” In addition, there are advanced recruitment plans and the formation of illegal bands to commit war crimes and murder people, he said.
Munya stated that picketing will continue until President William Ruto’s Finance Act, which he claimed was intended to cripple Mt Kenya businesspeople, is overturned.
According to him, boda-boda riders have parked their motorcycles due to the high cost of petroleum, and many cannot afford their daily bread due to the high cost of living.
“The turnover tax on enterprises in Mount Kenya is detrimental to business owners. Everyone with even the smallest enterprise, regardless of profitability, must pay. The Finance Act primarily targets Miraa merchants, the smallest market trader (mama mboga, green grocery), and even brokers.

“This is why we will never remain silent. We warned Kenyans not to vote for Ruto. Our people are not fed by charity but by their labor on their plantations. The purpose of the Finance Act is to reduce the profits of Mt Kenya businesspeople, he said.
People elected Ruto despite Uhuru’s warnings of dire consequences, according to Munya, who claims they now deeply regret their decision.
He claimed that some legislators who have criticized them over demonstrations have been persuaded to remain silent while residents suffer.
“We cannot remain silent lest we suffer the same fate as in 2007/2009. “We are prepared to defend ourselves and raise our voices as our ancestors did when they fought for independence,” he said.
As the country is headed in the incorrect direction, Munya said they will continue to fight for Kenyans.
“They are obsessed with the moniker of former President Uhuru Kenyatta. Whether asleep or awake, his name remains in their consciousness. Leave his identity unchanged. It has been nearly a year, but the economy has worsened. The price of Unga is exorbitant. The price of coffee has decreased, and macadamia nuts now cost Sh20, down from Sh200. Is Uhuru culpable? This administration has failed. They believe that conducting rallies and attending churches to deceive the public will prevent their demise. Munya said.
He stated that people should be permitted to exercise their democratic rights and that no leader should lecture them on the Uhuru family’s ownership of thousands of acres of land in such a brief period.
