New Lead in Nicola Bulley Search: Police Expand 20 Miles from Disappearance Site

Nearly two weeks after she vanished during a river walk, the search for Nicola Bulley, a missing mother, has shifted to the coastline.

Mum-of-two Nicola has been missing since January 27, when she vanished while walking her dog in St. Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire.

Divers are currently searching the River Wyre, which has led Lancashire Police as far as Morecambe Bay, Fleetwood.

Detectives believe that the 45-year-old woman fell into the river, which flows to Morecambe, between 9:10 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. on that day while walking Willow, her springer spaniel.

Police are searching the bay in the hope of finding the 45-year-old

In the meantime, a “shabby red van” was spotted parked close to where she went missing, providing a new lead.

Even if the current theory is correct, Peter Faulding, an expert in underwater search, stated that it was “impossible” for her to have reached the ocean. This represents a significant development in the case.

Faulding, whose team assisted the police with the search, told GB News: “We have been using the high-frequency side scan sonar in this stretch today, and it is so detailed that I can see each rock. Not in this stretch is she?

“Yesterday, we also sonar-scanned the opposite bank of the tidal river. Now, if you place a football in a tidal river, the ball will move downstream when the tide recedes and then return to the water as soon as the tide turns. It will return to the same location.

It would be physically impossible for Nicola to reach the ocean due to the great distance.

However, he and his team have abruptly abandoned the search, claiming that Nicola may “never be found.”

Meanwhile, it is believed that police divers are concentrating their efforts on sections of the river further downstream from the initial disappearance site and as far as the river’s mouth in Morecambe.

Officers have confirmed that they are focusing on the river’s mouth, with Lancashire Police suggesting that finding Nicola “becomes more likely in the open sea.”

The Wyre flows into the Irish Sea through the southernmost end of the bay.

Specialized officers searched the area off the coast of Lancashire in dinghies.

Dressed in dark waterproof gear, they floated through the clear blue water searching for the mother.

Unfortunately, their efforts bore no fruit.

This comes after the police department issued a new warning about trolls and amateur detectives interfering with the search.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We hope this will reassure the public that we will not tolerate criminal activity, including trespassing and vandalism.

“Additionally, we are aware of several extremely offensive comments made on social media and elsewhere.

“We are investigating this and will not hesitate to take action if necessary.”

    What do we currently know?
On January 27, Nicola Bulley vanished while walking near St. Michael’s in Wyre, Lancashire.

The police believe she fell into the river while walking Willow, her springer spaniel, with her.

She was wearing a long black gilet jacket with a hood and had her hair in a ponytail at the time of her disappearance.

She was wearing black jeans and olive green ankle boots.

On a nearby bench, Nicola’s phone and the dog’s leash were discovered.

She was last seen that morning at 9:10 a.m.

Lancashire Police Superintendent Sally Riley confirmed that there is a ten-minute window in which they cannot account for Nicola’s movements, prompting fears that she left the path in a CCTV black spot.

This is between the last confirmed sighting at 9:10 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. when Nicola’s bench-mounted phone was connected to a business call.

The Sun Online has compiled a comprehensive case timeline with all available information.
