On Wednesday, the suspects in the heinous murder were arraigned, and police were granted ten days to continue detaining them.

As investigations continue, Mavoko Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Barbra Ojoo permitted the State to continue detaining Evelyn Wanza Katumbu and Faith Nthemba Kyalo.

However, Januaries Musau, the man at the center of the investigation, was released and will serve as a vital prosecution witness in the murder case.

Mwende may have vanished as a consequence of a love triangle involving Musau, alias Shady, his wife Evelyn Wanza, and Phyllis Mbithe, a local woman.

Suspect Faith Nthemba Kyalo, 25, has been mentioned as the one who made the phone call to Mwende the day she disappeared, setting her up for her murderers. Faith and Phylis Mbithe are neighbors in the Phase 3 rental dwellings.

The decomposing body of 29-year-old Mwende was discovered in a septic latrine in the rental homes on Tuesday.
