Zidane, through his agent Alain Migliaccio, was asked if he would be interested in succeeding Gregg Berhalter on the United States bench, but politely declined.
And Zadane’s actions did not sit well with the FFF boss, who stated that he would not have taken a call from Zidane because he doesn’t care.
“Zidane, I would not have even called him (…) I’d never met him, and we’d never considered breaking up with Didier Deschamps. I don’t mind; he (Zidane) is free to go wherever he wants.”
Le Graet, the FFF’s president, also responded curtly to reports of Zidane’s interest in coaching Brazil.
“I’d be surprised if he went there,” he said.
“I don’t mind if he does what he wants. “I’ve never met him, and we’ve never thought about parting ways with Didier Deschamps.” He can go wherever he wants, including to a club, to which he has unlimited access in Europe. On a national level, I find it difficult to believe.”
Kylian Mbappé responded by criticizing French Football Federation President Nol Le Grat, saying Zinedine must be respected.
“Zidane is France, and you don’t disrespect a legend like that.”
