You Stupid Idlers- UDA MP Samuel Arama Insults Parents Scrambling for Bursaries (Video)
On Thursday, Samuel Arama, the Member of Parliament for Nakuru Town West, addressed a crowd of parents who had assembled outside his office seeking bursary forms.
In a video, the lawmaker reached his office and was taken aback to discover a line extending from the parking lot to the street.
He raised doubts about why the residents chose to wait in line for extended periods, considering that the bursary program would continue until the end of February.
“These forms are being given out from today to the end of February, why are you coming to my office in crowds?” he posed while calling the parents stupid and jobless.
Additionally, Arama alleged that the parents were engaging in idle behavior due to unemployment, and he asserted that this circumstance was the reason behind the increased demand for bursary forms.
“You have started becoming idlers, it’s like you have nothing to do. Come and line up every day, you’ve started becoming stupid,” he added.
The Member of Parliament additionally recommended that the county should make the forms available on its website to facilitate easy access.
“You will have to pay Ksh20 each to access the forms from the website because you are becoming stupid,” he threatened.

Arama proceeded to clear out onlookers who hadn’t joined the lines, including individuals with disabilities. He signaled his bodyguard to scatter the gathering.
The bursary initiative is crucial in offering financial assistance to students with limited resources from underprivileged backgrounds, enabling them to afford their education.
Lately, inhabitants of the Saboti sub-county in Trans Nzoia expressed dissatisfaction and protested against the authorities when they were required to provide Identification Cards (IDs) to qualify for bursary assistance.
“Money allocated to bursary is supposed to benefit poor students in the constituency. We support this system since it locks out outsiders,” Saboti MP Caleb Amisi stated while defending the plan.
In July 2023, MP Arama stirred controversy on the internet when a video surfaced showing him making threats to shoot demonstrators in Nakuru.
“I even voted for Raila Odinga, so why are they coming to disturb us here? These people should be shot. I will shoot someone,” Arama stated while drawing his weapon.
