Worldcoin Registration At KICC Halted for Security Reasons
Thousands of Kenyans who were queuing to have their eyeballs scanned as part of the Worldcoin registration operation were told that they would not be able to participate.
The audience that had gathered at the KICC in Nairobi was instructed by the police to depart the location because the activity had been halted.
The Worldcoin team claims that the police requested that they discontinue the experiment owing to the potential security dangers involved.
Instead, they were recommended to search for a larger location, such as the Nyayo or Kasarani Stadiums, in which they could carry out the exercise with a minimum of safety concerns.
The Worldcoin team also turned away Kenyans who had lined up to participate in the exercise, adding that they will inform participants on Wednesday of a new location at which the activity will continue.
A handful of Kenyans who are reluctant to leave the location are currently being persuaded to leave by the police.

During the registration process, each participant will have their eyes scanned, and then they will be granted 25 WLD tokens, which are equivalent to Ksh.7786.
